Today the Tribeca Film Festival brings crowds of up to 3 million people every year including many big named celebrities and supports local Tribeca restaurants and hotels. The Festival has become a major film industry event, promoting New York City as a filmmaking hub and helping filmmakers, both new and established, to reach new audiences.
Films are chosen from over 5,000 submissions, this year there will be almost 100 feature-length films and 60 shorts screened as well as multiple panel discussions with filmmakers and actors.
Tickets to the general public go on sale Monday April 14th and can be purchased online at the festival’s official website (tickets range from $12.50 for matinees to $20.50 for evening and weekend showings). Be sure to purchase tickets in advance as the most anticipated films and panels sell out quickly.
