Burp Castle
An excellent spot for serious craft beer drinkers, you can partake in some Pommes Frites delivered Sundays, Mondays & Wednesday around 5:30pm/6pm. Make sure to get there early as they go fast. Although if you miss it you can always grab some around the corner & bring them in yourself.
Desnuda
This almost hidden spot near Tompkins Sq. Park serves up truffle popcorn (make sure to ask as it’s not automatically bought out). Enjoy them along with dinner or drinks. You can also grab some during the $1 oyster happy hours 6-8pm daily, and all day Sunday & Monday.
Blind Tiger Ale House
Considered a legendary craft beer bar, you can grab free Murray’s Cheese and fresh baguettes on Wednesdays at 6pm. The cheese changes every week and it’s a popular event so definitely get there early to grab a spot.
Brazen Head
This Cobble Hill bar offers a great tap list and daily food specials. For the freebies check them out Monday (free wings), Wednesday (free cheese), and Sunday (free bagels).
Crocodile Lounge
Well known to Union Square dwellers, this cozy bar offers up an entire personal pizza with every drink you buy- fresh out of their tiny brick oven in the back. Make sure to get your pizza ticket when your drink is served and be prepared to add to the pizza maker’s tip jar (if you forget- they will be sure to remind you).
The Red Lion
This isn’t technically free but might as well be. The live music bar (shows every day of the week) serves up 10 cent wings on Tuesday nights from 6pm-12am. You can choose from Buffalo, BBQ & Teriyaki. The website says there’s a 2 drink minimum but from personal experience that hasn’t always been the case. There’s also PBR on the menu if you’re really looking for a cheap date.
