Food and Design Charity Event, A Halloween Pup Crawl, Knish Chat, + A Spooky German Beer Garden
This annual charity event brings together top designers and the city's best restaurants. Popular spots like Emily and Fuku will be paired with a famous designer for a food sampling from a decked out station. Open bar, live DJ, and prizes round out the evening that all benefits the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.
Dress your dog up in the scariest (or funniest) costume you can think of and bring them out to our second Pup Crawl. This one is Halloween-themed (so the pups get plenty of treats) and will visit some of Long Island City's best dog-friendly breweries. Proceeds help support local animal rescue North Shore.
If you've been on our Tenements tour, you've tasted the classic Jewish knish. Now hear about its history from knish expert Laura Silver (who literally wrote the book on the Knish). City Lore hosts the event that discusses Polish legends, Lower East Side history, and connects the knish to the day after Halloween (also known as All Saints' Day).
A German beer garden is not necessarily the first place you would expect to celebrate Halloween. But the folks at Loreley are making their beer garden spooky for the season. In addition to the covered outdoor area, there will be specials all night (including mini pumpkin kegs) and a costume contest. And we would guess lederhosen doesn't count.
