Less Waste in NYC, Midsummer Fest, Party in the Park, + Street Art Networking
The fifth program in the Museum of the City of New York's series New York's Future in a Changing Climate focuses on how the city can get closer to a future of zero waste and how that will affect the city's diverse communities. Before the discussion, there will be a happy hour on the Museum's terrace.
Some people go to the beach to celebrate summer, but for something a little different, head to Battery Park City to celebrate the season Swedish-style at the annual Midsummer Festival. Authentic fiddle music, dances, games, flower wreaths, and Swedish edibles will all be available.
Party under the stars this weekend at Prospect Park. You're encouraged to dress up in your most festive party outfit and bring food and wine to enjoy in Brooklyn's beautiful oasis. The park will provide the tables and entertainment, which includes live jazz by Dandy Wellington and his band followed by a live DJ set from Cosmo Baker. Proceeds benefit the Prospect Park Alliance.
Meet your favorite street artists and hear their stories at this cutting edge event at 19th Avenue Stage in Astoria. Virtual reality gaming, skating culture, and designer toys come together with vendors, panels, and a community gathering.
