French Food Deals, Welcome in the Summer, Cookout with Braven, + Get into the Aloha Spirit
Celebrate American Independence Day this week and French Independence Day next week by eating a tasting menu at one of the city's best French restaurants. French Restaurant Week, in partnership with Open Table, runs for two weeks and gives you the chance to get good deals ($25 lunch/$38 dinner) on everything from escargots to steak tartare.
Start the holiday week right with Brooklyn Crab's annual tasting event. While they grill up hot dogs and burgers, you can taste your way through eight breweries and three distilleries. There are unlimited beers and cocktails with the purchase of a ticket. You'll get great views of Manhattan along with access to their outdoor games. Summer, here we come!!
Burgers and beers in the backyard - that's what the Fourth of July is all about - isn't it? The gang at upcoming Bushwick brewery Braven hosts a cookout with their summery beers (currently made upstate) in the backyard of Left Hand Path. The first 30 people to arrive and purchase food, get a free beer. There might also be some secret beers if you ask the right person. Celebration indeed!!
Summertime is the perfect time to go to Hawaii. If you can't afford a plane ticket, hop the subway to the New York Botanical Garden where certain nights throughout the summer (like tonight) you can view the Georgia O'Keefe: Visions of Hawai'i exhibit while soaking in the aloha spirit with live music, lei-making demonstrations, and a tiki cocktail or two.
