NY Spirits, Local Beer, More Local Beer, + A Delicious Reason to Race
New York has made a name for itself as a major producer of local artisan spirits. We learn about this growing industry on our Craft Cocktail Tour, but you can taste some of the state's best liquor at this special event hosted by Edible Manhattan at the Brooklyn Brewery. Wet your whistle on whiskeys and absinthes from places like Van Brunt Stillhouse and Doc Herson's.
Jimmy Carbone of Beer Sessions Radio is a huge champion of local beer and for the eighth year in a row is hosting this sudsy event. 20 breweries will be on hand at The Well (a stop on our Brewed in Brooklyn tour) to pour their beers, chat with fellow beer lovers, and celebrate this growing community. Expect local spots like Folksbier and Big Alice to be in attendance.
Edible Manhattan brings back their beer event of the summer. This will be an outdoor evening where you'll have the chance to sample some of the best local brews (including Island to Island Brewery and Kelso) paired with some hearty local dishes from places like Jacob's Pickles and Little Tong Noodle Shop.
If you've always wanted to run a 5K but needed some motivation, how about an ice cream social at the end of it? NYCRUNS is hosting a race around Roosevelt Island which promises beautiful views, an even trail, and a full on ice cream party at the finish line.
