Many of the small businesses harmed by the storm are using crowd funding sites like Kickstarter or SmallKnot to raise money for their repairs. We wish we could give to everyone but we are a small operation with very little cash. However we are going to give what we can. So starting tomorrow (12-12-12) we are starting a very special 12 Days of Sandy's Christmas. Each day we will feature a campaign on our blog that we are contributing to and we hope you will join us and also make contributions to each of the 12 businesses we feature.
Take a Tour!
We continue to lead tours and many of those tours visit the businesses hit hard by the storm. You can learn, have fun, and spend your money in the shops and businesses that need it most. Not sure when you can make it on a tour or want to get a tour for someone else? Get them a Gift Certificate that can be used anytime for the next year. Also, we are in the process of developing a new tour that will be designed specifically to connect you to the local businesses hit by the worst of the storm. Sign up for our newsletter to be in the loop. Look for that in the coming new year.
Shop With These Businesses for the Holidays
We've already been doing this and we've created a web page on our site with a list of businesses that are selling product or gift certificates for the holidays. It's a great opportunity to get a wonderful gift for a loved one while helping the city recover. Your $$ are the most important resource for this recovery so shop local and shop often!
