What's the Deal?
This Red Hook Distillery started off with the Due Nortth Rum (made from unprocessed cane sugar) and today they make Grappa, malt whiskey, moonshine + rye bourbon. But the distiller's passion (and our favorite) is their Van Brunt American Whiskey. You can pop by their tasting room to see what they're up to since, as a craft distiller, products are being made in small batches.
You can get to the Van Brunt Stillhouse from the F, G at the Smith/ 9th St. station (a 30m walk) or with the New York Water Taxi's Red Hook Dock. They're open Thu/Fri 4-9pm + Sat 2-9pm/Sun 2-6pm. tours must be booked in advance.
