The Obsession:
A cool, unpretentious spot on the Upper East Side with great food and craft beer.
The Basics:
They have big screen tv's, communal picnic tables, pingpong tables, and free popcorn. It's a great spot for a group or if you're looking to mingle with fellow-beer lovers.
What's the Deal?
Their giant hot pretzel is perfect to order for a large group, as it is warm, fresh and filling. It comes with mustard and cheese dipping sauces. In addition, their craft beer options are delicious. For lovers of everything spicy, opt for the Big Alice Jalapeno Rye. If you enjoy a sweeter beer, try their catskill Double IPA with a peach flavor.

Every day this week, two local bloggers will be celebrating a different local Queens business and showcasing one of their desserts, including the classic soda shop Eddie's Sweet Shop and the unqiue Asian desserts at Kulu Desserts. Gowanus: The Past and Future of Brooklyn's Curious Canal/ November 30, 2016, at 7pm
Learn all about how Brooklyn' Gowanus Canal became known as Lavendar Lake and hear about a time when the now notorious canal was home to beds of local, delicious oysters. While those days are gone, author and tour guide Joseph Alexiou discusses the waterway's history and what the future holds for the canal and the adjacent neighborhood. A glass of wine is include with the $15 ticket.
Spice Up Your Life with Lior Lev Sercarz/ December 1, 2016, at 6:30-8:00pm
Chef and author Lior Lev Sercarz will inspire home cooks to expand their horizon when it comes to spices and flavor combinations. At the MOFAD event, he will demonstrate how to make two custom spice blends that are featured in his new book The Spice Companion and he will be pouring samples of the spiced-beer he collaborated on with Brooklyn Brewery. Two types of tickets are available, one including a copy of the book and a take-home spice jar.
Grand Holiday Bazaar/ December 4, 2016, at 10am-5:30pm
There's no better time to get started on your holiday shopping and no better place to do it than at this impressive local market on the Upper West Side. Among the more than 100 vendors, you'll find artisan jewelery, vintage collectibles, and antiques. And when you get hungry, there are also lots of local food options as well. Best part is that all of the profits go to help the nearby public schools. This is the second of four Sundays the holiday market will be open.

A rotating selection of local beers, ciders, kombuchas, and sodas paired with a variety of cured meats, hams, and jerky. 
 
The Basics:
​After the success of Stinky Brooklyn, Patrick Watson and Michelle Pravda decided to branch out and focus a little more intensely on craft beers and artisanal hams. Here, they have 20 rotating draft lines for growler fills and a Spanish-style ham bar where the meat is sliced right off the bone.

What's the Deal?
​​The ever-growing artsy neighborhood of Bushwick has lots of options when it comes to restaurants and bars, but it was yearning for a take-away provisions store. While the focus is on hops and hocks, you can also come here for pickles, mayonnaise, and prepared sandwiches. And when you're hear shopping for all your holiday food needs, don't forget to ask about the Beer of the Month Club.
