A One-of-a-Kind Gift that is Fun and Supports Local NYC Businesses.

Giving a tour as a gift (or receiving it), is so much more than a new sweater, or iphone case.  It’s a super fun day spent exploring the city, interacting with visitors and locals alike, and supporting local NYC businesses.  Our tours range from craft beer crawls, to food tours, to historical tours (which also include beer & food - notice a theme?), and we have new exciting tours planned for 2015, so you’re bound to find something to fit everyone’s interest.  Grab a gift card online & skip the Black Friday crowds.

The #ShopSmall Impact.

  • Purchasing a gift certificate supports us, a small, local NYC business, which employs local New Yorkers.
  • On our tours, we bring customers to small, local NYC shops, restaurants, and bars(many of which buy produce and supplies from other NYC businesses) directly supporting them.
  • By supporting local, you're contributing trifold to the local neighborhoods instead of extracting from the city by frequenting chains.

#TuesdayTidbits - Give a Local Gift This Holiday Season

Thanksgiving is around the corner and before you know it the holiday music, holiday festivals, and crowds will descend upon the city.  If you’re looking to skip the pricey goods at Union Square or Bryant Park, why not think a little outside of the box for this year’s Christmas gifts, and gift your fellow New Yorker, or soon-to-be-visitor, with an Urban Oyster tour gift card?

Picture
Oftentimes we never think of exploring our own city, and even if one wanted to, over an hour wait at the Empire State Building will certainly change their mind.  But to eat and drink your way through a new neighborhood, or even an old favorite is a great way to discover more about your city and find new places to eat and drink.  Between our craft beer crawls, and food tours in Brooklyn, the East Village and the Lower East Side, you’ll definitely find something you’ll enjoy.

Picture
Local businesses are an integral part of the city that need to be protected and it seems like too many longtime neighborhood haunts are being replaced by chains.  Bakeries are shutting down, family owned shops closing, and we risk losing  the very elements that make New York City unique.  Urban Oyster focuses exclusively on small, locally owned spots where our business goes directly back into the community.  Support local businesses & treat yourself to an Urban Oyster tour!
