#TidbitTuesdays- Our Favorite Summertime Spots

6/25/2014

As all New Yorkers know, summertime is when we all come out from hibernation (where we were for so long this year!) to be outdoors as long as we can!  Why not celebrate the warmth with some great outdoor summer spots like The Water Table, a US Navy Yard Patrol boat turned New England bar and restaurant featuring Sunday Supper [literally] on the East River.

Or maybe you have a sweet tooth and would rather check out Morgenstern’s Finest Ice-Cream, a “New American Ice Cream Parlor” that puts a contemporary twist on the traditional ice cream parlor.  Or Sonny’s Soda Shoppe, a rooftop bar with sweet Italian drinks like Negronis and affogatos (as well as pizza by the slice and 360-degree views of the city).
If you’re looking to add a little tropical to your Saturday night out in the city, check out Battery Harris.  A restaurant and bar mixing the flavors of the Caribbean with Brooklyn.  And then of course, there’s Smorgasburg.  100 vendors, every weekend.  And if you have some time to kill you can even wait the line for the famous ramen burger.  If you live in Manhattan or Queens, try taking the East River Ferry home for a nice breeze with an incredible view of the city.  We’ve earned this summer- let’s make the most of it!
