The Obsession:
Fresh baked goods + wholesome snacks.

The Basics:
A great spot for a quick, healthy bite at decent prices.

What's the Deal?
The Francois Payard Bakery on Houston St. offers a huge array of ready to go meals like salads, sandwiches and soups as well as a great variety of freshly baked bread.
For the area, the prices are pretty low (a nice sized soup w an artisan roll cost around $6) and the atmosphere is clean and relaxing, perfect for a solo diner between errands (or shopping).
Weekends will be crowded while weekdays can be calm and quiet.

The Bakery is location in the South Village (or NoHo, depending on who you talk to...).  It's a few minute walk from the B,DF,M/A,C,E West 4th St. station and the 6 at Bleecker Street to the East.

You can see our guide Nikki grabbing a bite at FPB here.

#CurrentObsessions:  Bangkok B.A.R.

The Obsession:
Family recipes direct from Bangkok.

The Basics:
Great noodles + rice dishes cooked with traditional techniques in a stylish atmosphere.

What's the Deal?
Bangkok Bar serves up traditional favorites full of flavor.  We opted for the Rama Chicken (jasmine rice topped with Thai peanut sauce and baby kale).  Was it pricey?  Sure.  But this is NYC and $12 for a meal (half of it ended up coming home as leftovers) is nothing crazy.
Another popular menu item is the Thai 'young coconut water'- refreshing and always fun to drink out of an actual coconut.  You'll also find sides from vegetables to pork belly buns to tofu buns (it's definitely Vegetarian friendly).
They pride themselves on the authenticity as the owners are "born and raised" in Bangkok (hence the B.A.R. in the name).

Bangkok Bar has several locations throughout the city, including a few food pop-ups- keep up to date on their site.

Bonus-  Watch guide Nikki check out their noodles at the Vanderbilt Hall space here.
