We'll be giving special holiday-themed food cart tours on Wednesday in the Financial District, and our ever-so-frothy Fermented NY Craft Beer Crawl on Thursday afternoon. Check our calendar for dates. The tours may sell out, so please book in advance.

Join us for a Holiday Church Tour on
Jan. 7th & support local residents in-need

Join us for our third annual Holiday Tour of Most Holy Trinity Church! On this tour, visitors will explore the church from bell tower to crypt with Urban Oyster guides and Associate Pastor Father Timothy Dore, and learn about the origins of many Christmas traditions, from Christmas trees to nativity scenes, and see them come to life in the beautiful depictions in the church’s elaborate stained glass windows, paintings and statues. Urban Oyster has a long-standing relationship with this parish, and all proceeds of this tour will go to the Trinity Human Service Center, which provides for neighborhood residents in need of clothing, food, and other assistance.

Urban Oyster at the Vendy Awards!

Vendors work so hard, and the Vendy Awards, an event hosted by the Urban Justice Center's Street Vendor Project, is part of a broader effort to support them and showcase the amazing food they produce from such tiny kitchens. Urban Oyster is proud to support the work of this organization through the work that we do. If you missed this year's Vendy's, join us for a Food Cart Tour to learn more about the industry, taste dishes from former Vendy Award winners and nominees, and learn about the Street Vendor Project's advocacy work.

Explore with us how chili peppers spread to countries all over the world from the Americas while the plantain, a fruit native to South Asia, became a staple in Caribbean cuisine. Join us for an Immigrant Foodways Journey through Brooklyn's "La Marqueta" and the Avenue of Puerto Rico, where we'll learn about the influences of various cultures on Latin American cuisines and the changing face of Williamsburg from the 19th century to the present.
