Oyster Week Sept. 11-28
New York Oyster Week will be celebrating all things oysters from tastings to lectures to parties catered to both the long time oyster aficionado and those simply curious what all the fuss is about. The celebration will include many, many spectacular tastings (marquee fish houses, raw bars, and oyster friendly spots will all be represented) but will also offer events that delve into the importance of the oyster in New York’s history, economy, and cuisine. Check out our #MustDos for this week to get in on the opening event, an epic Brooklyn Oyster Riot!
“A Celebration of the Busy Bees Who Pollinate the City That Never Sleeps”
Yes, NYC bees, for those of you who didn’t know about this wonderfully fun fact (there’s even a NYC Beekeepers Association). This weeklong festival will include honey & honeybee education, entertainment, and, of course, tastings. We’re probably most excited for all of the honey-menu tasting dinners and for the honey & local beer tasting with specially made honey beer (see our #MustDos for more info).
